Today I will show you how [product] helps [type of user] go from [current painful state] to [better state].
I will focus on [the one or two workflows they asked about]. Please stop me with questions at any time.
Picture [persona, e.g. a team lead at a busy clinic] who needs to [task] before [deadline or moment].
Right now they [current way of doing it and why it hurts].
Click: [screen or button]
Say: Here [persona] can [action]. Notice that [detail that saves time or reduces errors].
Click: [screen or button]
Say: Next they [action]. Before, this took [time or effort]; now it is [how it is easier].
Click: [the feature that best solves their main problem]
Say: This is the part [customers / testers] tell us they use most: [what it does].
Pause. Let them look at it.
That is not what should happen. Let me show you the screenshot of that step while I [refresh / switch account], and I will send you a short recording afterwards.
Stay calm and keep moving; nobody remembers a glitch handled well.
So you have seen how [product] helps with [problem 1] and [problem 2].
A good next step would be [a trial, a pilot with one team, a technical call] starting [date]. Shall we put that in the diary?
A product demo is not a tour of every feature. The best demos show one realistic user getting one important job done, faster or more easily than before. This template starts with a technical checklist so nothing embarrassing pops up on screen, then opens with the goal and a short persona story. The workflow cards pair what to click with what to say, which keeps you from narrating the interface ('and here is a button'). A 'wow' card highlights the feature that best answers the audience's main problem. There are check-in questions to keep the meeting two-way, a script for when the demo fails, and a closing card that turns interest into a next step.
